It’s a beautiful time of year for al fresco dining, and there might be few more beautiful spots to do so than Sanger House Gardens, 1823 N. Palmer St. in the Brewers Hill Neighborhood.
Built in 1872, the Sanger House is a charming Victorian home surrounded by magnificent gardens that showcase over 400 different plant varieties from trees and shrubs to annuals, tropical plants and grasses.
On Wednesday, Sept. 25 beginning at 5 p.m. you can enjoy the beauty of the gardens alongside five courses of delicious Serbian cuisine from the James Beard Award-winning Three Brothers Restaurant, curated wine pairings and an evening of jazz music from local musician Don Linke.
September's Jazz in the Garden menu will feature:
- Savory Pastries: one filled with chicken and roasted red peppers, another with cheese
- Serbian Salad: freshly chopped tomato, onion and peppers with Serbian goat cheese
- Serbian Sausage: served in verjus with grapes and polenta
- Goulash: seasoned, simmered beef served with fennel slaw and buttery mashed carrots
- Dessert: honey cake
Tickets are $137.36 (includes fees) per person and can be purchased online.
