If it’s St. Patrick’s Day season then, for the fourth year in a row, it’s time for Third Space Brewing’s annual Mystic Knot Irish Coffee Stout.

Inspired by Irish coffee flavors, Mystic Knot is a 10.5% ABV Imperial Cream Stout aged in 12-year-aged Knob Creek Bourbon barrels for seven months and steeped in Stone Creek Coffee.

The beer, which comes with three additional variants, will be released at the brewery, 1505 W. St. Paul Ave., in the Menomonee Valley, on Saturday, March 12.

“Mystic Knot is one of our favorite days of the year at Third Space” said Third Space Co-Founder and President, Andy Gehl.

“Not only does it mean the return of our most popular barrel-aged beer and a slate of fun new variants, but St. Patrick’s Day and this party always feel like the gateway to Spring just around the corner.”

The beers are available on tap and in four-pack 16-ounce cans, which can be preordered at shopthirdspace.com/inthespirit. Pre-orders must be picked up on the release weekend (March 12-13).

There is also a two four-pack package that includes one unit of reach variant and two units of Mystic Knot for a special price.

Mystic Affogato, a vanilla cream coffee stout with Stone Creek’s Cream City Blend, lactose and vanilla beans, makes a return as one variant.

Another is Mystic Tiramisu, a coffee dessert stout that includes Stone Creek Black Sheep coffee, cacao nib, vanilla bean and orange peel.

The final variant – Mystic Double Shot, which aged in two different bourbon barrels – will be sold only in single 16-ounce cans. This new variant rests first in a 12-year Knob Creek cask and then a three-year Central Standard bourbon barrel. Then it was boosted with a double dose of Stone Creek’s Green Bike Espresso blend to create Mystic Double Shot. Yowsah!

The March 12 release will be enlivened with Celtic and bluegrass from Paddygrass, 1-4 p.m., and CBD baked goods from Kelly’s Greens.
