Texas de Brazil could be on the docket for the outlot restaurant space at Mayfair that previously housed McCormick & Schmick's.
According to documents submitted to the Wauwatosa Plan Council for their April 10 meeting, the Texas-based chain, which has locations in 16 states as well as a number of restaurants abroad, is requesting a conditional use permit for 2500 Mayfair Rd.
Like other Brazilian steakhouses, Texas de Brazil offers all-you-can eat churrasco style meats, a salad bar with 50+ items and sides for a set price.
Meats, which are delivered tableside by roving waitstaff include filet mignon, lamb chops, parmesan-crusted pork tenderloin, Brazilian alcatra (rump steak), garlic picanha (sirloin), beef and pork ribs and sausages. Sides include garlic mashed potatoes, fried bananas and Brazilian cheese bread, along with a variety of sauces.
A bar menu includes smaller portioned items like a platter featuring two pieces of chicken breast, sirloin and sausage for $9.50; chicken breast, sirloin and filet with bacon for $12.50; and lobster bisque for $9.50. In addition to cocktails, the restaurant also boasts a Wine Spectator award winning wine list. The bar and lounge would also feature happy hour specials, according to the proposal.
According to city documents, Texas de Brazil would be open for dinner beginning at 5 p.m. daily, adding lunch if demand warrants.
