Amanda Buhrman, owner of the pop-up bakery and mobile dessert bar, Sweetly Baked, has announced the grand opening date for her new dessert bar just inside the Marshall Building at 207 E. Buffalo St. in the Historic Third Ward.
Guests are invited to attend the opening, which takes place on Friday, April 19 with a special Gallery Night party from 5 to 9 p.m. During the festivities, guests can view and purchase artwork from Jeff Redmond of Scout Gallery, revel in a stunning floral installation by La Tulipe and raise a complimentary glass of sparkling wine in celebration of the new cafe. The cafe will also have a selection of specialty cocktails, mocktails, desserts, coffee and tea available for purchase.
But the Friday celebration is just the start.
Celebrate 420 Day
On Saturday, April 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., guests can celebrate 420 Day with an assortment of infused treat specials priced at just $4.20 each. Customers who plan their arrival for the fortuitous time of 4:20 p.m. can also take part in a complimentary infused mocktail toast. Be sure to check out the “Explore the Ward” adult scavenger hunt taking place throughout the Historic Third Ward.
Moving forward
Following the grand opening, guests can pop-in during regular business hours to enjoy Sweetly Baked treats including breakfast treats like pastries, scones and flavored butter and cinnamon rolls (available 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) along with select desserts like macarons, cookies, brownies, bars and cakesicles. Vegan options will be available.
Between 5 and 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturday guests can stop in for cocktails, mocktails, wine and beer along with a variety of desserts including specialty mini cakes, layered desserts and specialty cookies.
As Sweetly Baked gains its stride, Buhrman plans to introduce new offerings including drink pairings for desserts and Date Night Dessert Flights (three desserts paired with three drinks; serves two). Fans can watch for updates and announcements from @sweetlybakedmke on Instagram.
Following Sweetly Baked grand opening weekend, hours will be Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
