Spicy Tuna, the family-owned restaurant known for its artfully presented sushi, will be closing its doors at 4823 W. National Ave. in West Milwaukee after service on Dec. 28.
The restaurant, which opened its doors in 2019, has set itself apart by displaying its sushi on platters with artful images that range from lovely flowers to whimsical animals or abstract designs.
But the drawings that accompany the sushi are more than just a beautiful garnish. They’re created with sauces that complement the ingredients in the sushi, so diners are encouraged to view the art as a natural extension of the maki itself.
It's a unique take on sushi that the owners have taken pride in presenting to its customers for nearly six years.
