After all, children from suburban areas get abducted, school shooting sprees happen predominantly in suburban schools and highway commutes from the 'burbs to downtown, statistically, are more risky than the chance of getting gunned down in the ghetto. Why don't we just raise fuel mileage requirements a few miles per gallon instead of violating such a pristine artic environment? Experts have stated we could save more oil that way than is available in those fields. Instead of pampering oil interests why not make our auto producers more competitive in the world and really do something for the planet?
