The Mequon Public Market at Spur 16, 6300 W. Mequon Rd., has announced Bowls as the newest tenant for the forthcoming development.
Bowls, a restaurant which specializes in fresh, healthful fast casual meals including green, grain-based and smoothie bowls, opened its first location in Walker’s Point in 2017.
Owner Andy Larson, who founded the restaurant with Chef Nell Benton in 2017 and recently took full ownership of the restaurant, says he was attracted to the development for numeurous reasons, including the quality of the design and carefully curated tenants, which currently include Anodyne Coffee, Beans and Barley, Purple Door Ice Cream, Café Corazon, Bavette La Boucherie, Screaming Tuna, and Happy Dough Lucky.
"Cindy and Jenni are so passionate about the project and it is so well thought out, I just knew Bowls had to be a part of it from the first time I met with them and saw the layout," he says. "It’s a perfect opportunity for Bowls to expand its reach to the north and bring in a wider base of everyday and catering customers."
The market, which is slated to open sometime during the first quarter of 2019, will house 10 retail tenants. The development will also be home to a new fish market, oyster bar and full-service restaurant from St. Paul Seafood Company as well as numerous state-of-the-art townhomes and a wellness center.
"Bowls is one of my favorite stops when in the Fifth Ward," notes developer Cindy Shaffer. "It always delivers fresh, healthy and delicious creations that never disappoint. The market has come together with a restaurant mix that covers a broad category that we don’t have in the North Shore. It’s what we’ve been waiting for."
