Cue the end credits for the iPic Bayshore, as the movie theater announced today in an email, as well as a Facebook post, from Chief Operating Officer Sherry Yard that it will close its Bayshore Town Center location effective Thursday, March 8. The closing will also shut down the brand's barbecue restaurant, Big Daddy's Brew + Que, as well as its bowling alley, Pinstrikes.
The movie theater opened in 2007, offering a high-end experience involving reclining seats and in-auditorium restaurant dining – amenities that have now grown to most cinemas throughout the area, as well as the entire nation, as theater companies hope to compete with improved home viewing options.
The Bayshore theater marked the brand's only Wisconsin location, with the next closest iPic cinema now in South Barrington, Illinois.
For those who've already purchased tickets for a movie showing after Wednesday, March 7, or those who want to redeem member points or gift cards before the closing, visit the iPic Bayshore, call (414) 963-8779 or email the iPic at bayshore@ipic.com.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
