Riverwest's Gathering Place Brewing Company will open its Tosa taproom and patio at the former Stock House Brewing site, 7208 W. North Ave., on Saturday, Oct. 29.
The grand opening event will take place from 2 until 10 p.m. The opening follows on the heels of changes at The Fermentorium nearby and the opening of Lion's Tail Brewing on 86th and North last weekend.
Owner Joe Yeado announced in August that he had acquired the former Stock House space.
The grand opening event will include tappings of limited release beers and special aged beers, including a 2017 version of Limb Shaker Belgian Tripel with Door County Cherries.
There will also be a food truck on the new patio out back.
“The outpouring of support since we announced this project has been truly humbling,” said Yeado in a statement issued Wednesday. “We’re very excited to continue sharing excellent, locally-made craft beer with the Tosa community and to join the growing number of businesses that are making a home on North Avenue.”
The Tosa tasting room and patio will initially operate as a taproom serving beer made in Riverwest but will ultimately add a brew system. Gathering Place is currently seeking the required permits.
“The new location gives us more opportunity to innovate and create beers that will only be found in the taproom,” said Corey Blodgett, head brewer. “We have lots of ideas for using new ingredients and techniques and can’t wait to share these beers with guests.”
Gathering Place donates 20 percent of online and taproom sales every Thursday to a different nonprofit and Yeado said the Tosa taproom will also be included in the program.
