The wait is nearly over for Fixture Pizza Pub, located at 625 S. 2nd St. in Walker’s Point in the former home of Boom/The Room.
The bar and restaurant, which is owned by brothers Jake and Josh Tayler, hosted a soft opening this weekend and plans to open to the public beginning at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5.
The soft opening menu included appetizers, including house-made potato chips, calamari, eggplant fries and mozzarella sticks along with garlic bread, garlic cheese bread and garlic pizza bread. Salads included the Fixture salad, along with Caesar and chopped salad options.
The menu also featured both thin crust and deep dish pizzas with meat-based toppings including sausage, pepperoni, bacon, chicken, Canadian bacon, ground beef and anchovies. Vegetable toppings include bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, black and green olives, tomatoes, artichokes, pappadew peppers, garlic, pineapple, sun-dried tomatoes, jalapenos and basil. Gorgonzola cheese is also available.
Sizes for thin crust include 12-, 14- and 16-inch sizes, while deep dish is available in 14- and 16-inch pies.
Although the restaurant features a full bar, the drink menu favors beer, offering up a healthy selection of craft brews including selections from Milwaukee Brewing Company, New Glarus and Lakefront Brewing Company along with Ballast Point, 3 Floyds, Founders and O’So. A selection of red and white wines are also available by the glass as well as by the bottle. Prosecco is also available on tap by the glass as well as half and whole carafes.
