Need to know how many spots are available in that parking structure in which you want to park your ride? Well, you’re in luck at least if you’re driving in Downtown Milwaukee.
Several new signs will showcase available parking spots in lots, structures and garages in and around greater Downtown Milwaukee. The data feed is expected to be live on Friday, June 13.
You’ve probably seen similar technology at malls and other major venues. It’s convenient even in a downtown like Milwaukee's where it’s fairly easy -- not to mention inexpensive -- to park.
"The Department of Public Works' new Advanced Parking Guidance System is an exciting new project for the City of Milwaukee, the first of its type in the State of Wisconsin," said DPW Commissioner Ghassan Korban. "This way finding system will help Downtown visitors to find parking quickly and safely to help them along to their destination."
Real time data is everywhere and several sources make your drive easier. Try these sources, too: parkmilwaukee.com, ridescout, Spot hero and Park Me.
And, remember, you don't have to plug most of the meters on Saturday or Sunday in Downtown Milwaukee.
