Got plans to come Downtown on Saturday? Good – so does probably most of the greater Milwaukee area and beyond.

It's always bustling Downtown but March 9 is just plain ridiculous, from beginning to end. Take a deep breath: The St. Patrick's Day parade, and all of the bellying up to nearby bars that implies, will roll its way through Downtown starting at noon, while Milwaukee Wave will kick it over at the UWM Panther Arena at 1 p.m. and the Marquette Golden Eagles will play its final home game of the season at Fiserv Forum against NCAA bubble team Georgetown at 1:30 p.m.

Both venues will turn things around quickly for the evening crowd as the UWM Panther Arena will host an Admirals game at 7 p.m. while Fiserv Forum will host a spat between the still best-in-the-NBA Bucks and the Charlotte Hornets in a potential first-round playoff preview.

Meanwhile, directly outside the new arena, Punch Bowl Social celebrates its grand opening.

And if you have no interest in anything related to sports or games, well, you're still probably heading Downtown for either the two performances of "Phantom of the Opera" at the Marcus Center the Funny As Ish comedy tour starring Mike Epps cracking up the Miller High Life Theatre, Gaelic Storm at The Pabst and three – THREE! – different shows at The Rep.

So yeah, other than that, pretty low-key night in Brew City.

Your first question reading all of that is likely: How am I supposed to choose what to do Saturday? Good question – only you can answer that one. But thanks to some advice from the Westown Association, we can help out with the second question probably rattling in your head: Where the heck am I supposed to park and drive through all of that?

First of all, streets included in the St. Patrick's Day parade will close around noon. The parade takes off on Wisconsin Avenue at the corner of Old World Third Street before ending at Water and Highland, so try to avoid those blocks late Saturday morning and afternoon. Once you get through all of that, it's time to park – and despite all the closures, there's still plenty of options for your car to call home. For one, the Marcus Center's parking structure, located at 929 N. Water St., will be unblocked and accessible throughout the day, as well as Fiserv Forum's two structures at 5th Street and Highland Avenue. Parking will also be available at The Avenue for $3. One place you should definitely not park on Saturday morning or afternoon? On the parade route, as any cars found on the path will be towed beginning at 7 a.m.
