According to a social media post on Tuesday, the Crossroads Collective Food Hall at 2238 N. Farwell Ave., on the East Side will close on May 8.

The food hall opened in the former Oriental Drugs and Twisted Fork space in 2018.

"Since opening, we’ve had the honor of hosting passionate vendors, welcoming thousands of guests, and helping launch businesses that have gone on to grow in big ways," the post noted. "The energy and creativity of this corner of the East Side has always come from the people and we’re proud to have been a part of it.

"Now it’s time to pass the torch to a local restaurant expanding into the space, a move that reflects what Crossroads has always stood for: giving small businesses a place to grow.

"All programming will proceed as planned and our vendors will continue full service through May 8th. Be sure to follow our vendors on social media to keep up with what they have in store for you next!

"There’s still time to come support your favorite vendors, grab a drink at the Pharmacy Bar, and give Crossroads an epic send-off."

Crossroads was opened by New Land Enterprises, which owns the building.

"We had good successes there, but now it’s time for a different direction," said New Land's Tim Gokhman.

Jodi Hogerton, New Land's Marketing Director, who declined to identify the new restaurant tenant in the space, added, "What I can say is that we weren’t planning to close Crossroads, but a local restaurant business approached New Land looking for a location to expand their current operations.

"As it turns out, Crossroads had everything they were looking for, and this is what we do – help good businesses find homes."

New Land planned to open another food hall in Bay View in 2020 but Flour & Feed Food Hall never opened.

Another food hall, North Avenue Market, was closed by its owner last year after two years in business.
