A branded stadium name. Branded entrances. Official beverage and clothing providers. Advertisements on the uniforms. These are all regular and expected parts of the live sporting event experience. But this has got to be a new one: The Milwaukee Bucks today announced that they have an official ... avocado.
Indeed, for the remainder of the 2018-19 season, Avocados From Mexico will serve as the team's official avocado. And while this may simply an exercise in branding, it's also an exercise in branding that comes with food, as the deal involves a role in avocado-centric menu items around Fiserv Forum – like at El Rey's two arena locales, where they'll serve a guacamole trio.
"Avocados From Mexico is a popular international brand that will gain prominent attention at Fiserv Forum," said Matt Pazaras, Milwaukee Bucks senior VP of Business Development and Strategy, in a release. "We look forward to growing this partnership in the years to come to continue creating premium food experiences in Fiserv Forum."
"We’re excited about this new partnership, which allows us to increase our exposure to sports fans across the country with delicious fresh avocados," said Avocados From Mexico President and CEO Alvaro Luque, in the release. "Avocados are healthy and taste incredible on a variety of concession menu items, Milwaukee Bucks fans and all the patrons visiting Fiserv Forum this season are in for a special treat."
So there you have it. Fiserv Forum is finally complete; it now has its official lumpy green fruit. Consider it a tribute to one of Milwaukee's greatest contributions to society.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
