Your votes are in, Milwaukee, and you have selected the winners of OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2011. We're announcing the results of this readers' poll, including our editors' pick, in a series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.
For the fifth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by Concordia University. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2011."
Last year the then-new Harbor House, located in the former Pieces of Eight, toppled the long-reigning Roots from its pedestal as chronic winner in the Best View category of our annual Best Dining poll.
This year, the seafood-focused Bartolotta eatery solidified its lead by taking the title once again, winning more than 22 percent of the vote, compared to just over 13 percent for Roots, which again finished second.
Each place, however, offers stunning, if distinctly different eye candy out its windows. While Harbor House offers close-up views of Lake Michigan, the US Bank Building, Discovery World and the Milwaukee Art Museum, Roots dishes up a brilliant panorama of Downtown Milwaukee.
For our editors' choice, we picked the unique view of the Milwaukee River, the Third Ward and East Town afforded by the new Screaming Tuna, in Walker's Point.
