Milwaukee’s first (and Wisconsin’s only) Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop softly opened on Sunday, July 14 at 203 N. Broadway in the Historic Third Ward (the former home of Paintball Dave’s).
Operated by Tricia and Fred Rasmussen, the ice cream shop offers a daily selection of 34 flavors of ice cream, non-dairy ice cream and sorbet. Scooped flavors are available in cups, housemade waffle cones or sundae bowls) and dipped waffle or sugar cones. Guests can also order sundaes, shakes, sorbet slushies, root beer floats and hot chocolate.
The interior of the shop has a modern rustic feel with wooden paneling, white and lime green tile and plenty of positive Ben & Jerry’s messaging.
Take a peek down the hallway and you’ll also find a locally themed mural teeming with euphoric B&J’s cows.
Scoop it up!
The selection of flavors includes Ben & Jerry’s “Top 10 favorites”: Americone Dream, Cherry Garcia, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chunky Monkey, Half Baked, Milk & Cookies, Phish Food, Strawberry Cheesecake and The Tonight Dough.
There are also newer offerings like Mango; Impretzively Fudged (chocolate ice cream with fudge-covered pretzel pieces and pretzel swirls); Marshmallow Sky (marshmallow ice cream with marshmallow swirls and gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate chocolate chip cookie dough); PB S'more (toasted marshmallow ice cream with peanut butter cups, graham cracker pieces and marshmallow swirls); and Strawberry Cheezecake (oat-based version of the classic).
There’s even something for your pup! Two Doggie Desserts are available including Pontch's Mix (frozen treat with peanut butter & pretzel swirls) and Rosie's Batch (frozen treat with pumpkin & mini cookies).
In addition to seating inside for about 12 customers, patio seating for another dozen is available at three tables on the scoop shop’s sidewalk patio.
Ben & Jerry’s is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Catering is also available. For more information, follow Ben & Jerry’s Milwaukee on Facebook or visit its website.
