Where do you take your parents?
They've been gone for decades, and weren't actually bar regulars, but were they around, I think they'd enjoy The Dogs Bollocks as a comfortable place to sit and talk.

What's your "Cheers" bar?
With the demise of the old Shorewood Inn, it's become T.J. Aliota's, where pretty much everybody knows everybody's name.

What's your signature drink?
I'll have a beer, usually an import or a micro.

Do you prefer your sports at home or at the bar?
At home, alone with the TV.

What do you order when someone else is buying?
I wouldn't order differently if somebody else is picking up the tab.

Bar games -- yes or no? If yes, what's your poison?
No. Drinking's a dangerous game by itself.

Who are your drinking buddies?
Matt and Jeff and Bob.

What do you drink at home?
Pretty much the same as out in public, but almost always with a meal.

Where do you take your parents?
I really don't go out to bars with my parents, but we occasionally have a beer or two at the Palm Garden, inside the Lakefront Brewery, while enjoying a fish fry and polka music.

What's your "Cheers" bar?
I lived in Riverwest, with the exception of a few years, since 1993. Hence, bars like Art Bar, Foundation, Nessun Dorma and Stonefly feel very comfortable to me.

What's your signature drink?
Guinness.

Do you prefer your sports at home or at the bar?
I like to see the Brewers a few times every season, but other than that, I am not much of a sports person. I like to grocery shop during Packers games.

What do you order when someone else is buying?
Patron or another white tequila.

Bar games -- yes or no? If yes, what's your poison?
Nah. I'll play pool or pinball occasionally, but when I go to bars, I like to talk trash and people watch.

Who are your drinking buddies?
I prefer to drink with the ladies. They know who they are.

What do you drink at home?
Mostly tea. Some wine. And super low-calorie, watery beer.

Where do you take your parents?
The Milwaukee Ale House. My mom loves a patio where she can be near the water.

What's your "Cheers" bar?
Burnhearts or Cactus Club. I can't go into those places without seeing people I like.

What's your signature drink?
I like to keep it simple. Vodka tonic, please.

Do you prefer your sports at home or at the bar?
I'm not the biggest sports fan, but when I'm watching Packers games, I appreciate the camaraderie in a bar setting. The free shots with touchdowns are a nice added bonus.

What do you order when someone else is buying?
A nice whiskey or bourbon on the rocks.

Bar games -- yes or no? If yes, what's your poison?
Occasionally I'll play pool, but I'm not very good, so I bore of it quickly.

Who are your drinking buddies?
My husband.

What do you drink at home?
In summer, it's white wine with a piece of frozen fruit in it outside in the back yard. Otherwise, I enjoy a nice craft beer after work and red wine with dinner.

Where do you take your parents?
I don't take my parents to bars, but I'll head to Summerfest or ethnic festivals with them. Mostly, we'd go to restaurants.

What's your "Cheers" bar?
During my formative drinking years, it was Louie's Ancient Chinese Tavern, a wonderful establishment in the building now housed by Fat Daddy's on National Avenue between first and second street. I don't get out nearly as much as I used to, but the closest place I have to that is Leff's Lucky Town. It's not like everybody yells when I walk in, but I'm pretty much certain to run into someone I know there.

What's your signature drink?
I wish I had one, because I think it's a cool concept. But, I also think it's a bit limiting because I tend to vary my choices based on location, occasion, price (this IS a recession) and the company I'm with. Since we need an answer here, I'd day that my most common orders are "Miller High Life in a bottle" and "Ketel One Citron with a splash of tonic and a lemon wedge." 

Do you prefer your sports at home or at the bar?
It depends on the event. If it's a Packers game, a Super Bowl or something that requires me to pay attention for work, it's definitely at home. If it's an out-of-market NCAA tournament game or a Sunday or Monday Night Football game with no local interest, I like being in the bar.

What do you order when someone else is buying?
Something in the vodka family. I like Ketel One, so that's my go-to call.

Bar games -- yes or no? If yes, what's your poison?
There is nothing wrong with a friendly game of darts and I've had fun with some puck bowling on occasion, but I'm not a big proponent of games at bars. I'm there for the cocktails and the socializing. I don't need games to drink. Drunk people playing darts can be a pain in the arse. I also dislike the sound of a dice cup slamming on a bartop in an otherwise quiet establishment. 

Who are your drinking buddies?
Anybody who is around, but my most common "wing men" are Kevin Brandt, Dashal Young and various other friends and co-workers.

What do you drink at home?
Mostly Coke Zero and Diet Mountain Dew. Occasionally, I'll crack a beer or a glass of red wine while I'm grilling a steak, but I've always felt that cocktailing was a social endeavor. As my boy K.B. likes to say, "We live in a state where drinking is a destination. Where are you going tonight? I'm going drinking."

Where do you take your parents?
I don't take my parents to bars. If we're having drinks, it's usually at a restaurant for dinner, festivals in the summer, at home for holidays or summertime barbeques.

What's your "Cheers" bar?
I'm going to have to go with an obvious one; the lounge at Hinterland Erie Street Gastropub. I wait tables there a few nights a week and so between a staff of co-workers and a crowd of regulars, it's almost a little mini-family.

What's your signature drink?
My fall-back go-to is Ketel One and seltzer but really, I'm all about trying anything new. If a bar or restaurant specializes in a beer, specific ingredient or wine selection, that's what I order.

Do you prefer your sports at home or at the bar?
My answer here is altogether vague. I'm not set on one place over another, so it all depends on what friends or family want to do.

What do you order when someone else is buying?
I order pretty much the same as I would if I were picking up the bill.

Bar games -- yes or no? If yes, what's your poison?
For sure. Not too long ago we opted for Olympic style competition at Landmark Lanes consisting of bowling, darts, pool and fusball. Air hockey is the one that always gets me.

Who are your drinking buddies?
Friends and co-workers.

What do you drink at home?
I don't drink at home much other than the occasional glass of wine with dinner or beer on the porch in the summertime.

Where so you take your parents?
My parents aren't really drinkers, so I don't really take them anywhere. But if my dad said, "hey, let's go have a beer," I'd be happy to crack one open with him just about anywhere. We've had dinner at the Water Street Brewery in Delafield and I bet my dad had a beer then. Does that count?

What's your "Cheers" bar?
My "Cheers" bar is definitely Club Garibaldi. Walking in, with few exceptions, I usually hear "Hellooo Bobby" before the door closes behind me.

What's your signature drink?
I'm not much of a cocktail aficionado and I almost never drink bar plonk so I'm a beer guy at bars. What do I choose? At Garibaldi, I let my favorite bartender choose for me and he never lets me down. Elsewhere, I mix it up among my favorites: Red Stripe, Newcastle, Boddington's, Guinness, Stella, Spotted Cow ...

Do you prefer your sports at home or at the bar?
I enjoy baseball more in person than on TV, so I guess neither. I vote stadium. I like soccer on TV, though, and I prefer at a bar.

What do you order when someone else is buying?
If you ask Andy Tarnoff, he'll tell you that I like $25, 18-year-old scotch, but that was just once and I didn't know how much it was when I ordered it. If you're offering, I'll have a beer, thanks.

Bar games -- yes or no? If yes, what's your poison?
Nah, takes too much concentration and I'm busy ... drinking and talking trash.

Who are your drinking buddies?
These days I think I drink with my co-workers more than with anyone else. Due to the vagaries of babysitting availability, I'm sad to say I rarely drink with my wife these days.

What do you drink at home?
Beer (see the list above), wine (I'm partial to barbera) and grappa.

Where so you take your parents?
I really don't -- not that they wouldn't be fun to hang out with. We're more likely to go out for dinner, and if it's a special occasion, we'll order a glass of wine.  Exception: the time I brought them to the cabin Up North and we all enjoyed Old Fashioneds at the local supper club.

What's your "Cheers" bar?
At the moment, it's Hector's in Bay View -- but only because I live so close.  I don't know all the patrons, but I do know all the bartenders and the owner, some from waaaaay back in the day.

What's your signature drink?
I'm still searching for one.  I love a great dirty vodka martini, but that's a "one and done" sort of drink. Currently, I enjoy an Absolut Mandarin press, or if I'm in a beer mode, a pint of Boddingtons.

Do you prefer your sports at home or at the bar?
Depends how much I care about the game. If it's a regular-season Packers game without much on the line, I'm fine watching it at a sports bar.  Same goes for a random, Tuesday night Brewers game.  If I need to pay attention, then I absolutely want to watch it at home with friends -- or alone -- in stone-cold sobriety.

What do you order when someone else is buying?
Probably the same things I order when I'm buying, but with better booze.

Bar games -- yes or no? If yes, what's your poison?
Hate 'em.  If I'm out at a bar, that's my socializing right there.  If I need a diversion from the people I'm hanging out with, well, then, I'm hanging out with the wrong people.  Plus, I don't need any dice games to make me drink faster.  Really, I could use a game to slow me down.

Who are your drinking buddies?
I use the rare bender as opportunity to catch up with old friends. It's harder and harder to get away these days, and bars are like the grown-up version of coffee shops we used spend every night at. 

What do you drink at home?
Not much. I don't like the taste of alcohol enough to drink it with meals, other than a very occasional glass of wine.  Most of our liquor cabinet is covered with a fine layer of dust.

Where to take your parents?
I usually make it a point to not spend my precious few social hours each week with my parents, though I have been known to enjoy the occasional beverage with relatives at German Fest or Oktoberfest.

What's your "Cheers" bar?
Too close to call, but I'll go with Old German Beer Hall and the Milwaukee Brat House. Both are on my street and I've been visiting both since the day the opened. It's a comfy feel; the owners and staff are friends of mine and rarely, if ever, do I need to actually order.

What's your signature drink?
I'm pretty simple, as I get older; if it's a beer night I'm picking between Schlitz, High Life (or, Hofbrau, if I'm at the Beer Hall). If cocktails are in the forecast, I'll be the guy enjoying the tall gin and tonic.

Do you prefer your sports at home or at the bar?
No doubt, at home. I like my couch, my beer, my food, my remote and - if I allow them - my friends. Bars are full with too many drunken know-it-alls looking for an argument. No thanks.

What do you order when someone else is buying?
Depends on what they're having, but usually ... it's just gin.

Bar games -- yes or no? If yes, what's your poison?
I never really got drinking games. Drinking, at least with my upbringing, wasn't seen as something done as a game. It wasn't as taboo as it is elsewhere. So I never got into drinking games. I've been known to play the occasional game of dice, but I honestly don't know how the game works most times.

Who are your drinking buddies?
Every guy should have a crew of drinking buddies and I'm fortunate to have a few. I've got my "work-world" friends, like Colin Fly of the AP, J.P. Codorin from Sports 32 and some other hacks, with whom I like to catch a drink after games. But more often than not, you'll see me out and about with my "drinking team," a group of friends who enjoy a good joke, stiff drink and a mild amount of immaturity. We made the jerseys (yup, we've got ‘em) up as a joke to poke fun at some local German clubs and the whole concept has taken off. Who knew?

What do you drink at home?
Take a peek into my refrigerator at any time, and you'll be sure to find a nice supply of Schlitz. My freezer usually has a bottle of Jagermeister ready to go and my liquor shelf always has a bottle of Beefeater. If you want something else, feel free to bring it by... that's my philosophy. There's also a few bottles of homemade stuff, in some cases, passed down from my and my friends' grandparents.
