After 13 months of service – and quite possibly maintaining the title of Milwaukee's smallest restaurant – 1033 MKE will have its final night of service on Saturday, July 13.

Located at 1033 S. 1st St., 1033 MKE offered service for a maximum of 14 people and specialized in seafood, charcuterie, sharable plates and cocktails. Now it's time for a change.

"It's been an amazing 13 months … but we believe in our hearts and souls in order to have a long-term existence we need to do some reevaluation and change our performa and platform," co-owner Rob Levin said on Instagram today

He did not reveal the new concept for the space in his post, but he did share via email with OnMilwaukee, "It will be a wine and cocktail bar with simple, approachable nibbles."

Levin ended his video post with a request.

"Get out and support your local restaurateurs: the small mom and pops and pop and pops and mom and moms so they are here for the longterm," said Levin.

Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more information on the new concept when it becomes available.
