When I visited 1840 Brewing Co., I found a brewery unlike any I'd seen. In fact, it's the only brewery I've visited that doesn't have brew kettles. With only a few fermentation tanks at the back, but a plethora of oak barrels, 1840 looks as much like a winery or distillery as a brewery.
