"Anna Karenina," a retelling of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel, is packed to the limit with elaborately lavish theatrics, dressing, camera movements and choreography. The trailers call these things "a bold new vision." I call it a bunch of pretty, meticulously crafted distractions.
