If you watched TV in the 80s or 90s in Milwaukee, you remember Bobby Rivers. He was a legendary media man who paved the way for many Black and gay journalists. Today would have been his 71st birthday, thus Mayor Cavalier Johnson declared it "Bobby Rivers Day."
