Rick Belcher, vice president for operations at radio stations WTMJ (620 AM) and WKTI (94.5 FM) was relieved of his duties today, sources tell OnMilwaukee.com.
Belcher, who oversaw programming at both stations and had been with Journal Broadcast Group for eight years, could not be reached for comment. His name and e-mail address were removed from the WTMJ Web site.
There is no word about a potential replacement, though spurces inside the Journal Broadcast Group speculated that Belcher would not be replaced.
An internal memo obtained by OnMilwaukee.com stated, "This decision was made in order to provide a more streamlined and productive environment for our Milwaukee Radio Operations as we continue to find ways to grow in this low-growth radio climate."
