It's Valentine's Day, which means many will be showing their love to their significant others, boyfriends, girlfriends and so on. But how much do we show our love to our pets – dogs in particular? According to a recent survey, as far as Wisconsinites go compared to the rest of the U.S., we're somewhere in the middle.

According to the Milk-Bone Doggy Love Index – which is apparently a thing – Wisconsin has been ranked the #22 most "puppy-loving" state in the country, right behind Delaware and Kansas and just in front of Alabama and Virginia. California, New York and Washington finished as the top three states for puppy love, while Nebraska finished in last. The full map is available here.

To formulate their dog love science, Big Heart Pet Brands – the company behind puppy product brands like Milk-Bone, Pup-Peroni, Canine Carry Outs and Milo's Kitchen – surveyed 3,000 dog parents, asking about how much and how often they show their dogs affection with the likes of cuddles and kisses.

The survey's results also showed that giving your dog love can apparently help you get some people love as well. 59 percent of men and 66 percent of women noted that they find somebody who is a dog parent attractive. According to the study, just showing outward affection to dogs makes a person attractive to 67 percent of men and 79 percent of women.

Then again, the survey also said 20 percent of all U.S. residents would prefer to spend Valentine's Day with their dog than a romantic partner, so perhaps no amount of public displays of puppy affection will help.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
