The Stillery, W204N14025 Fond Du Lac Ave., in Richfield, hosts two respected names in American whiskey in events in the coming weeks.
On Monday, June 6, from 5 until 8 p.m., Chicken Cock master distiller Gregg Snyder will visit to meet and greet customers, sign bottles and pour samples of new Chicken Cock’s bourbon, rye and new Island Rooster Rum Barrel Rye.
Chicken Cock aged 25 barrels of its Signature Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (95 percent rye, 5 percent malted barley, 95 proof) in Caribbean rum casks for more than four years for the Rooster Rum Barrel expression, which won gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
At the free event you’ll be able to get two-ounce pours for the price of one-ounce pours.
You can pre-order a bottle at this link.
Bottles will be sold at the event but quantities will be limited, so pre-ordering is suggested. If you can’t make it to the event in-person, you can also order bottles to be signed for later pickup.
Then, a week later, on Monday, June 13, from 6 to 9 p.m., Steve Nally, the master distiller at Bardstown Bourbon Company visits for a meet and greet around the release of the new Fusion #7 bourbon (70 percent 3-year-old and 30 percent 12-year-old whiskies).
Nally will sign bottles and the first 100 people to purchase their bottle will receive a custom Bardstown tumbler valued at $20. Plus, $5 from each bottle will be donated to Nation of Patriots, which helps disabled and homeless veterans.
Pre-order here. Again, you can order a signed bottle for later pickup, too, if you can’t make the event.
There will also be two-ounce for the price of one-ounce pours, giveaways and other deals on BBC bourbons. Plus, you can pre-order Brad Paisley's American Highway Reserve Route 2 and everyone who does, will be entered into a drawing to win a Paisley-signed guitar.
Bittercube’s new whiskey and cocktail club
Bittercube Bazaar, 4828 W. Lisbon Ave., has announced that it’s launching a new subscription offering monthly tastes of whiskies made by some lesser-known American distillery.
“It can be difficult to know what is what when a lot of companies simply buy factory made whiskey to re-bottle with a glitzy label,” says Bittercube founder Ira Koplowitz, “but it was important to us to feature distilleries doing the hard work like we do with bitters.”
Subscribers will receive two expertly crafted bottled cocktails (six total cocktail servings) plus garnish, two two-ounce samples of the featured whiskies and detailed spirit and cocktail tasting notes every month for $64 a month. To picked up at Bittercube in Uptown Crossing.
GM Brandon Reyes says research for this new subscription program has made him a whiskey fan.
“We sampled just about every American made whiskey we could find in the state, and then went through a rigorous blind tasting process to whittle it down to our favorites,” he says.
“Whiskey never excited me all that much, but after tasting through some really interesting expressions, I can say my mind has been changed.”

Bittercube has been offering an heirloom liqueurs cocktail subscription for more than a year.
