The Green Bay Packers play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football tonight. Having people over for the game? Here are just a few of the things we'd want for our Packers party.
Charge it: LampChamp
Since your guests will no doubt be tweeting and Facebooking their way through the Packers game, it’s just a matter of time before their phones run down and they start asking you for spare chargers. Rather than fish out a cable from your bedroom, instead point them to the nearest table lamp, where you’ve installed the $20 LampChamp. This socket discreetly screws on top of your existing lamp socket and provides an always-on 2 amp USB charge. When you don’t have a cable plugged into to it, you can’t even see it. It’s also great for travel. – Andy Tarnoff
Dip with it: Star Wars Death Star chip and dip bowls
I'm not a huge football or "Star Wars" fan, but my sons get into both, so I would love to serve them chips and dip, which is one of my favorite meals (don't judge), in these. I think in doing so the force would definitely be with the Pack. – Molly Snyder
Make it: "Hard Knocks: Green Bay Packers"
This is an odd #WeWant as the NFL season begins, but I need to say it. I want the Packers to be the team on HBO’s "Hard Knocks" next season. It’s a great show, and while I’m certain that the cameras are a massive hindrance for the teams that are featured (the Rams had the spotlight this year) the exposure, story lines and "humanization" of the players can’t be discounted. I'm not a huge NFL fan, and watching a whole game is hard for me, it’s a bit slow and too long for my tastes. I do, though, love to learn the stories behind the players and coaches, and see the skills – up close – that the sport demands. "Hard Knocks" does this in a way that no other content has been able to. The Packers mystique is real, and it demands an even wider audience. Make it happen, NFL and HBO. Go Pack! – Jeff Sherman
Get them: Jimmy's must-haves
I'd say a big screen HD TV, buffalo chicken dip (any recipe is good because it can't be made badly), a Jared Cook shirt because he's going to be the Packers' breakout star on offense this year (think Jermichael Finley, without the drops and headaches and even more big plays) and some Wild Turkey bourbon because it makes wins much better and losses less bad. – Jimmy Carlton
Drink it: Surly Brewing Co.'s Surlyfest Lager
Even though the Packers are playing the arch-rival Vikings, I feel like it might be safe to recommend a Surly brew for the weekend, which also hosts the ongoing Oktoberfest. But despite the name, Surlyfest isn't exactly a typical malty lager Oktoberfest-style beer. Though it's got its malt, for sure, via three kinds of rye, a dose of American Sterling hops adds a nice floral hoppiness to the malt in this lager. This seasonal treat is available in cans and kegs for a limited time, so find it now. – Bobby Tanzilo
