The weekend was great, wasn't it?
The weather was perfect, the events large and Downtown was buzzing. Here are, if you care, a few random reflections:
- Thursday night's Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival Kick Off was another big hit. Huge crowds and a shorter, tighter program than years past left people smiling and happy. Airing the "flipping of the switch" live at 6:25 p.m. on Channel 12 was a great call.
- The Milwaukee Bucks haven't enjoyed this much early season love since the George Karl era. The team is full of hard working players who are feeding off the energy of rookie sensation Brandon Jennings. On Friday night nearly 16,000 flocked to the Bradley Center and they saw the Bucks win and end their homestand at an impressive 5-1.
- MP/two is closing. I walked past Mark Pasch's MP/two location at 825 N. Jefferson St., this weekend and noticed it was closing at the end of the month. There are some decent deals to be had. Although I loved the Cathedral Square setting of this store I wonder if it wouldn't have done better in the Third Ward? I guess we'll never know.
- Saturday's Milwaukee Holiday Parade brought huge crowds Downtown. Even though I'd love to see a few small changes and updates to the parade, kudos to the DeGrace Neuberger family for another fine event. And, kudos to everyone who brought food to donate to the Hunger Task Force. More than 10,000 pounds of food were collected.
- Finally, hats off the city and county for another collaborative Christmas tree effort. The tree, with its blue lights, looks great especially when the Marcus Center and Red Arrow Park are all also aglow.

He's honored to have been named to The Business Journal's "30 under 30" and Milwaukee Magazine's "35 under 35" lists.
He owns a condo in Downtown and lives in greater Milwaukee with his wife Stephanie, his son, Jake, and daughter Pierce. He's a political, music, sports and news junkie and thinks, for what it's worth, that all new movies should be released in theaters, on demand, online and on DVD simultaneously.
