Cookies for kids of all ages
This year’s book offers treats for everyone, from classics like Grandma Valeria’s Christmas Sugar Cookies to the innovative Orange Dreamsicle Cookies.
It also includes recipes from bakers of all ages, including 12-year-old Lorelei Hardt from Oconomowoc who created the Choco-Butterscotch Potato Chip Cookie that can be found on page 11 of the 2024 book.
“Last year, while my mom was baking her traditional cookies, I created this one all on my own,” says Lorelei. “I’m 12 years old, and this cookie has my three favorite things: chocolate, potato chips and butterscotch. I love the sweet and salty together.”
A holiday tradition
The first We Energies Cookie Book was introduced in 1928. Back then, the company was known as the Milwaukee Electric Railway & Light Co. and the book was created to promote the use of the company’s electric appliances.
Over the years, there were gaps in the book’s publication. But the book quickly became a time-honored tradition for families marking the unofficial start of the holiday season. In some families, the books have been collected for years and passed down through the generations.
Baking sweet treats during the holiday season is a festive activity you can do with family or friends. It builds bonds, creates memories and – maybe most of all – allows you to spend time with people you love.
We hope you’ll consider picking up a copy and making the We Energies Cookie Book part of your beloved holiday traditions.
