East Side music venue Vivarium from is turning one, and the Pabst Theater Group is marking the occasion with a show featuring some of Milwaukee’s favorite artists. Immortal Girlfriend, Caley Conway and Holy Pinto will take the stage on Saturday, Febraury 22nd to celebrate the new addition to the Milwaukee music  scene's milestone.

The space, originally a 1925 auto garage and dealership, later housed retail businesses before transforming into a venue. The name Vivarium, meaning “place of life” in Latin, fits the atmosphere perfectly. Prior to opening, OnMilwaukee shared a first look of the space, which has now become a fixture of live music on the East Side.

Over the past year, Vivarium has hosted an impressive lineup of performances. National acts like indie punks Lambrini Girls, three nights from jam band Spafford, Blitzen Trapper and hardcore legends Gorilla Biscuits have all played the venue. Milwaukee bands, including Bug Moment, Reyna, and North Warren have also headlined, helping to mix the city's abundance of talent with nationally touring artists.

The first-anniversary celebration carries extra significance. Proceeds from the event will support Friendship Circle of Wisconsin in memory of Alderman Jonathan Brostoff. Friendship Circle is currently promoting the SafeTALK Suicide Prevention Tour, honoring Brostoff’s commitment to mental health advocacy.

Tickets for the one-year anniversary of Vivarium are just $10, and are on sale today via the Pabst Theater Group website.
