Baseball season is postponed. Basketball season is postponed. Summer festival season is canceled or postponed. But at least one season is still on the schedule: grilling season. And in case you're not stocked up, Usinger's is here to help with its new curbside sausage pickup, starting April 30.
"The temporary closing of many restaurants has left us with an abundance of food service packs of our world famous sausage," writes the company in a post announcing the shift on its official Facebook page. "The temporary closing of our retail store has also left us with many imperfects or 'seconds.' So, beginning Thursday, April 30, you can save a bundle on these 'while they last' specials!"
All available Usinger's products can be found on the company's website, while specials will be posted regularly to its Facebook page, including day one deals like:
- Six-pound cartons of fresh frozen Cajun brats, fresh brats with bacon and beer, or fresh kielbasa for $15 (also available to be shipped to your house)
- Four-pound packs of 4-to-1 all-beef skinless frankfurters for $15, while they last (also available to be shipped to your house)
- Three-pound bags of assorted summer sausages for $6.99 (availably only curbside)
To get your curbside sausage, call Usinger's Monday through Friday at (414) 276-9105 to place your order. Orders placed by 11 a.m. can be either picked up the same day after 2 p.m. or from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. the next day. Then just call when you arrive outside Usinger's Old World Third Street location, and a staff member will meet you with the meat and place it in your car.
For more information on special deals or packages, stay updated with Usinger's Facebook page. And here's to grilling season, one of the few signs of summer we've got left during these most unusual times.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
