It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since Uber Eats launched its delivery service in Milwaukee. But it’s true. And the popular delivery service is now looking to the future and planning expanded services in metro Milwaukee.

Over the past 12 months, the delivery business has expanded its offering from just 70 restaurants to hundreds, including a variety in the Waukesha area. In mid-2017, it launched bicycle delivery as an option and it has also developed a crew of drivers who drive exclusively for Uber Eats. In the process, it has continued to work on improving delivery times so food arrives at its destination fresher and hotter than ever.

"It’s been a year since Uber Eats began providing Milwaukeeans with an easy and reliable way to get the food you want, when you want it," notes Peter Forsberg, general manager of Uber Eats Milwaukee. "After one year, we’ve created economic opportunities for hundreds of delivery partners and restaurants across the Milwaukee region. And we’ve learned a thing or two about when and what Milwaukeeans like to eat."

Forsberg says that in the next year or two priorities for the Milwaukee market include an expansion of the number of food offerings available via the Uber Eats app. There will also be an increased focus on adding a wider variety of cuisines and healthy options, as well as expanding delivery hours.

"We’ll continue strengthening relationships with our existing restaurant partners to help them reach their full potential," Forsberg adds. "This includes giving them data and insights on what Milwaukee eaters are interested in to help them expand and refine their delivery options."

The data that’s already been gathered from Uber Eats users over the past year shows that American cuisine is among users’ top favorites. The most popular time to order delivery appears to be on Fridays at 6:43 p.m. And, among the many items ordered over the past year, over 55,000 orders included french fries and 7,700 ordered one of Wisconsin’s favorite treats: cheese curds.

"We’re grateful for our restaurant partners, eaters, and delivery partners for making our first year in Milwaukee a success," says Forsberg, "And we’re looking forward to a tasty year two!"
