Rev up your tastebuds. Lucky Ginger is preparing to take guests on a very special journey to explore the bold flavors of traditional Lao fare.
The five-course Lao dinner will take place at Lucky Ginger, 221 N. Water St., on Thursday, Feb. 20 beginning at 6 p.m. and will include expertly paired beverages created by the team at Johnson Brothers.
Tickets will be $125 per person and include five courses, plus beverage pairings. Seating is limited to 40 guests and reservations can be made by emailing luckygingermke@gmail.com.

Guests who attend the dinner will be treated to the following courses:
Course One: Goong Sae Nam Pha
Raw shrimp marinated in jaew som (lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, garlic, ginger, Thai bird chili pepper
Course Two: Charred Octopus Salad
Served with house yum dressing
Course Three: Kha Poon Nam Gai
Coconut curry chicken noodle soup
Course Four: Grilled Lemongrass Cornish Hen
Served with papaya salad, jaew muk len (tomato base) jaew het (mushroom base) and sticky rice
Course Five: Egg Roll
Wrapped banana, deep-fried and served with vanilla ice cream

Lori is an avid cook whose accrual of condiments and spices is rivaled only by her cookbook collection. Her passion for the culinary industry was birthed while balancing A&W root beer mugs as a teenage carhop, fed by insatiable curiosity and fueled by the people whose stories entwine with every dish. Lori is the author of two books: the "Wisconsin Field to Fork" cookbook and "Milwaukee Food". Her work has garnered journalism awards from entities including the Milwaukee Press Club. In 2024, Lori was honored with a "Top 20 Women in Hospitality to Watch" award by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association.
When she’s not eating, photographing food, writing or planning for TV and radio spots, you’ll find Lori seeking out adventures with her husband Paul, traveling, cooking, reading, learning, snuggling with her cats and looking for ways to make a difference.
