It’s festival season in Milwaukee, and the folks from Boone & Crockett and Dandan are getting in on the action.
As a precursor to the city’s annual Big Gig, they are gearing up to host The Little Gig, a summer celebration featuring live music and great food. The free event will take place in the parking lot adjacent to Dandan on Sunday, June 25 from noon to 7 p.m.
"It’s summer in Milwaukee," notes Dandan co-owner and chef Dan Jacobs. "So we thought: Let’s throw a party. We’re combining forces to give people a great time with some really great food."
A bit like a block party and a little like a mini music festival, The Little Gig will feature both live entertainment and food from a host of the city’s best restaurants. Beer will be available for purchase from sponsoring partner, Pabst Brewery, and cocktails will be available inside the bar at Dandan.
A variety of tasty fare will be available for purchase from area restaurants and food trucks including Dandan, the Foxfire Food Truck, Goodkind, Gypsy Taco, Hello Falafel, Iron Grate BBQ Co. and The Vanguard.
Meanwhile, the day will be filled with music by Milwaukee acts including Dramatic Lovers, Dana Coppafeel, Midnight Reruns, Whips, Maiden Milwaukee, DJ Why B and Chris Schulist.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Dandan will be closed to the public July 2-10, during the second week of Summerfest. It will reopen on Tuesday, July 11.
