If you’ve been to the baaree this summer, you’ve already seen the impressive progress on the rebuild for the cheel, the well-regarded Nepalese restaurant at 105 S. Main St. in Thiensville which was destroyed in a tragic fire in 2020.
If not, you can see from the photo above that things are finally coming together. In fact, owners Chef Barkha Limbu Daily and Jesse Daily are currently preparing to reopen their restaurant this fall.
Limbu Daily acknowledges that the road to rebuilding the cheel has been long and arduous. But she says it’s the encouragement and support from the community and loyal customers which has gotten them through the past three years.
In fact, as the reality of reopening has come into view, she says she is inspired and reinvigorated by the thought of getting back into the kitchen and sharing her family’s recipes and her creative inspiration with guests once again.
In preparation for the autumnal re-opening, the cheel is looking for team members to join them in recreating their unique Himalayan-meets-Midwest experience.
The restaurant is currently interviewing for a wide range of front- and back-of-house positions including bartenders, servers, hosts, prep cooks, line cooks, dishwashers, server assistants and food runners. Interested parties can apply online at thecheel.com/careers.
