Here's some good news if you're young and looking for a summer job.
The Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board (MAWIB), in cooperation with Mayor Tom Barrett, just announced the "Earn and Learn Program" to provide 3,000 jobs for Milwaukee's youth.
For eight weeks, beginning June 22, youth between the ages of 14 and 24 can participate in this city-wide program to get exposure to various work environments while earning hands-on job experience. Youth have the opportunity to work at one of 90 participating non-profit, private and public sector employers, earning both experience and a paycheck.
The application deadline for the "Earn and Learn Program" is May 15. Applications may be picked up at MAWIB's office or printed online but must be returned to the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board office at 2342 N. 27 St.
