A Christmas gift came early for Milwaukee live music fans today as Summerfest announced yet another headlining act for its 2023 festival: singer-songwriter icon James Taylor, joined by special guest Sheryl Crow, on Saturday, June 24.
The "Fire and Rain" and "Sweet Baby James" singer last played Milwaukee almost a year ago at a Fiserv Forum gig with Jackson Browne. He also took the Amphitheater stage recently, joining forces with Bonnie Raitt for a Big Gig headlining concert in 2018. As for Sheryl Crow, the "Soak Up the Sun" hitmaker and famous Bucks fan last played Milwaukee at Summerfest, opening for Chris Stapleton at the September-hosted Big Gig in 2021.
Tickets for the James Taylor Amp show will go on sale to the public beginning Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at Ticketmaster.com, Summerfest's website and in person at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater's box office.
Today's announcement marks the fourth 2023 Big Gig headliner to be revealed thus far, including Zac Brown Band on June 23, Zach Bryan on July 7 and the combined forces of Imagine Dragons and AJR on July 8. For more Summerfest announcements, stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
