To help bring warm vibes to yet another grey February day, mark your calendar for the return of Summer Soulstice, hosted from noon to midnight on the East Side on Saturday, June 15.
The free Milwaukee music festival celebrated its 20th rendition in 2022 and last year brought in more than 10,000 attendees to the East Side – an improvement of 33 percent over the previous year, according to East Side BID executive director David Smulyan.
“We are currently planning for 2024 and working hard to make Milwaukee’s largest free music festival even better than last year," Smulyan said, in a release.
The summer celebration – bringing live music, local vendors, food, drink and more to the center of the East Side – lands on the busy Milwaukee summer schedule right in between PrideFest (June 6-8) and the first three days of Summerfest (June 20-22), with Polish Fest and the Lakefront Festival of Art also set for the Summer Soulstice weekend.
For more Summer Soulstice updates – including its much-ballyhooed local music lineup – visit the festival's website and stay tuned to OnMilwaukee. And click here for more info on all the summer fun coming to town this year (once we get past all this winter, probably sometime near the end of April).
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
