After a run of over 200 episodes that boasted over 250,000 downloads, host Richie Burke announced in February that the Milwaukee-based GoGedders podcast would be going on hiatus.
The show's growth had stagnated over the last year, and it was time for a change.
In the four months since the announcement, Burke rebranded his company from GGMM to Story Mark Studios and built out a brand new content studio in Walker’s Point. With the rebranding of the company and the move, the podcast also got a rebrand and is now Milwaukee Uncut.
Milwaukee Uncut officially launched last week with episodes featuring Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Marquette Final Four (and NBA) legends Steve Novak and Travis Diener. It even cracked the top 100 on the U.S. Apple podcast charts, reaching #84 in the “Personal Journals” category.
In the mayor’s episode, Mayor Johnson talked about his journey to becoming our city’s first black elected mayor, crime in Milwaukee, the upcoming RNC and much more. And in Novak and Diener’s session, they shared untold stories from the Final Four, playing for Tom Crean, the Be The Difference NIL Collective they are both involved in, some hilarious NBA stories and more.
Building off the success of the GoGedders Podcast, Milwaukee Uncut will still hold true to its mission of telling the entertaining and unfiltered stories of Milwaukee’s visionaries. From iconic legends who have shaped the city to the up-and-comers making waves, each episode dives into the compelling stories of these individuals and our community. That said, the video and audio content is upgraded with the new production resources.
With the launch of the podcast, Milwaukee Uncut proudly announced that Central Standard Distillery will be the title sponsor.
With the new sponsorship to celebrate the launch of the show, the two have teamed up to give away five (5) $100 Central Standard Craft House gift cards and two (2) Milwaukee event tickets (winner’s choice of event, up to a $400 value).
