Sporting News announced its 2007 Major League Baseball awards this morning, and it named Brewers third baseman Ryan Braun National League Rookie of the Year.

The votes were conduced by major league players and managers. Results will appear in the Oct. 22 issue of the magazine on newsstands this week.

Sporting News also named Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder to its NL All-Star team.

Braun finished the regular season with a .324 batting average, 146 hits, 34 home runs and 97 RBIs. Fielder finished 2007 with a .277 batting average, socking 50 home runs and driving in 119.
