This month, we’re talkin' lamps. Yes, that glowing orb we often overlook. Lamps are a very important part of any room. They do more than just provide light – they help reinforce the design of a space and add interest.

Steinhafels Decorating Solutions Interior Designer Aaron Keller loves to accent his work with lamps. Keller explains, "Lamp light is important to the overall lighting scheme of a room. Many clients have commented, ‘Oh we have overhead lighting.’ Guess what? Built-in lighting or overhead lighting does not count!"

Keller adds that lamps are needed to complete a room visually, and he often uses a minimum of three lamps per room. He says, "Usually a pair of basic lamps and an accent lamp, and yes, a floor lamp can be used! In larger spaces, I use five or more lamps, usually in odd numbers."

1. Textural and unique shades are a great way to add interest

2. Floor lamps can definitely make a statement, or blend right in

3. Mercury glass is extremely popular and adds elegance

4. Sometimes simple and modern lamps are needed in your space

There are many lamps on the market, and it may take some time, but you can find the perfect lamp for any room. It can be overwhelming, but a Steinhafels designer can help make it an easier process!
