{image1}Ex-pat Milwaukee poet, actress and filmmaker Jeanne Spicuzza is tying the knot with former Bodeans and Violent Femmes (and Oil Tasters, for you old timers) drummer Guy Hoffman, OnMilwaukee has learned.

The pair will be wed in Milwaukee on Saturday, March 19 and will host a post-wedding social event with friends at the Pfister Hotel.

"He was living on the sixth floor of the Shorecrest," remembers Spicuzza of first meeting Hoffman. "I had just moved into the apartment two doors away. Amy Rohan and Sigmund Snopek had told me about some drummer living on my floor, and had told him about a poet living on his. I was leaving...when I noticed a man walking down the hall toward me. I got into the elevator and held the doors for him. He entered (and) asked if I was new to the building. I said yes."

A short chat led to more, according to Spicuzza.

"He watched me as I walked away. I noticed him watching me. He came to visit me a few days later and asked me to dinner. I said yes. I moved to Los Angeles; he moved five months later. Eight years since we fell in love riding down the elevator."
