A few weeks ago, the city learned that we are the eighth poorest medium-sized city in the country. For some, this was alarming, but for others, the information is simply a confirmation of what was already suspected.

Yes, I feel the affects of poverty. In my daily life, I see many signs of poverty in Milwaukee, from garbage to homeless citizens to houses in serious need of cosmetic work. I believe it has gotten worse in the past few years and I continue to see poverty's affect on Milwaukee.
No, I really don't feel the affects of poverty. In my world, Milwaukee's poverty is something I am aware of through the local news and newspapers, but I don't really see it on a daily basis.
