This week, OnMilwaukee.com asked the Social Circle to share their favorite, famous Wisconsinites. Surprisingly, no one said either Charlotte Rae or Heather Graham, but the responses ranged from Chris Farley to Bob la Follette.

Jill Engel: "Gene Wilder, because he is funny!"

Skip Forrest: "Les Paul. Because his invention of the solid body electric guitar influenced most of the music of my life."

Patrick Fox: "Houdini because >>*poof!*<<"

Sylvester Hamilton Jr: "Hank Aaron because he's a successful sports icon that embraces where he comes from."

Paul Hoffman: "Hank Aaron cause he was always classy, and I got to interview him back in the late '80s."

Deone Jahnke: "Bob LaFollette. Progressive visionary for women's rights, native American's rights, social justice. Bob! Come back!"

Steve Kabelowsky: "Al Jarreau always remained humble and grateful of his Wisconsin roots."

Kameshwari Kate: "Aldo Leopold, for his observance of land ethic and bringing us our modern day conservation movement. He was an incredible scientist."

Adam Kleba: "Willem Dafoe simply because he and I are both from Appleton! Woot!"

Dan Krass: "Tom Snyder. One of the most captivating interviewers I've ever seen, and he did it for decades. We also share a birthday. RIP, Tom. I'll fire up a colortini for you."

Anne K. Maedke: "Many, although I do not follow her programming I think Oprah is quite impressive for beating the odds."

Sean Maroney: "C'mon now. Reggie Liskowski – aka " The Crusher," you turkey necks!"

Aimee Moore: "Chris Farley. If you had a difficult day at work or in life and just needed to smile at the silly stuff, his skits never let you down."

Rick Phelps: "How can we forget Liberace and his brother George Nyanzu."

Josh Pietrykowski: "As a 'whole,' I'd say the group that started the Republican Party in 1854 here in Wisconsin. Otherwise, Edward V. Whiton, former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice, who helped make the Fugitive Slave Law unconstitutional in the state. Probably the two most important things this state has given or done for the country. Shrugs."

Tamila Reed: "Bo Black because she was so successful with Summerfest becoming what it is. I find myself rooting for her. Favorite former Wisconsinite for sure."

Greg Sobanski: "Chris Farley! I wish I knew him when he was here :-(."

Andrew Stoltmann: "Surely, you can't forget David and Jerry Zucker and Jim Abrahams of Airplane fame. And stop calling me Shirley."
