For the 10th straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, dining guides, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as voting for your "Best of Dining 2016."

Milwaukee-based Small Shops United has partnered with Hunger Task Force to promote its 2017 Exclusive Gift Pack, and since it's Dining Month here at OnMilwaukee, I thought I'd tell you a bit more.

Small Shops United works with several restaurants, shops, coffee houses and entertainment venues in the Milwaukee area to bring awareness to their products, services and events. Its new gift package helps you save and gives back.

"The purpose of the gift package is to offer extra incentives for people to try a variety of experiences, products and delicious meals, while supporting small businesses in Milwaukee," said Eric Tallmadge, founder of Small Shops United. "It’s the perfect gift for anyone who loves Milwaukee and wants to keep their money here in the community this holiday season."

The 2017 Small Shops Gift Pack features deals worth more than $300 from local retailers and restaurateurs. Each offer is redeemable at participating stores using a member card. The price of a Gift Pack is $30. Small Shops United donates $12 from each package to the Hunger Task Force.

Packages first went on sale at the beginning of the month, but they will be available throughout Food For Families, Hunger Task Force’s annual holiday food drive, which ends Dec. 31.
