How do you shop local? We all do it, and everyday we’re asked for cool Milwaukee area gift ideas and interesting places and sites to go to to help be represent Milwaukee to a friend, business client, family member or whomever.
At OnMilwaukee.com, our new ShopLocal marketplace is still growing. And to continue its growth, I’m showcasing different products. Yes, we make money on this and yes we’re helping the local economy grow.
Have items that you want showcased? Contact us. Want to open a ShopLocal store or complement an existing ebay or etsy store? Click here.
We’re OnMilwaukee.com, and we’re making great media and moving Milwaukee forward. Thanks for being a part of our mission.
Maps have become art. Really, who uses a paper map anymore? Sure, maybe you have one for back up for the long trip across the country but the phone has definitely replaced the old school folded map.
But, art remains and I’m liking the reuse of the map especially in pieces like this one from Sniff Studio, owned by Brendan Sniff.
The "Wisconsin by County" map not only showcases the state’s 72 counties but - like any good piece of art - works as a conversation starter and easily improves the walls in your office.
Sniff also offers a Milwaukee County version with cities embedded.
A life-long and passionate community leader and Milwaukeean, Jeff Sherman is a co-founder of OnMilwaukee.
He grew up in Wauwatosa and graduated from Marquette University, as a Warrior. He holds an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University, and is the founding president of Young Professionals of Milwaukee (YPM)/Fuel Milwaukee.
Early in his career, Sherman was one of youngest members of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, and currently is involved in numerous civic and community groups - including board positions at The Wisconsin Center District, Wisconsin Club and Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. He's honored to have been named to The Business Journal's "30 under 30" and Milwaukee Magazine's "35 under 35" lists.
He owns a condo in Downtown and lives in greater Milwaukee with his wife Stephanie, his son, Jake, and daughter Pierce. He's a political, music, sports and news junkie and thinks, for what it's worth, that all new movies should be released in theaters, on demand, online and on DVD simultaneously.
He also thinks you should read OnMilwaukee each and every day.
