Selfie Hop, Milwaukee’s first “selfie studio,” opened its doors today at 2410 N. Farwell Ave. The space was formerly occupied by Core Yoga.

Guests are invited to purchase a ticket online for an hour to take selfies with their phones using the studio’s 20+ backdrops. Backgrounds include a pink dressing room, yellow confetti pit, two different ball pits, gothic style room, a picnic scene, orange walls with hanging monarchs and more.

Genral admission is $16 per hour for anyone 12 years or older and $11 for children ages 2-11. Group and party rates are also available.

The business, owned by Alison White, is not a franchise and was completely created by Milwaukeeans.

“The studio was built and decorated by myself and my husband,” says White.

Selfie Hop is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Selfie Hop is closed on Mondays.

“Selfie studios are gaining popularity throughout the U.S., so it’s super fun to have one on Milwaukee’s East Side,” says White.

The space is available for individuals, couples or groups. Reservations are required. Go here to make one.
