Kent Knapp and his family – aka Milwaukee Blacksmith – will once again offer classes and private parties starting this weekend via the educational arm of their business called School of Iron.
The first class, titled "Hold My Beer," takes place on Saturday, June 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. The three-hour class teaches participants how to make an iron drink holder stake to use during summer parties and barbecues. The cost is $95.
Follow Milwaukee Blacksmith on Facebook to stay informed about upcoming Saturday classes. Private parties with a minimum of six people can now book as well.
All classes are held at the Milwaukee Blacksmith studio, 140 W. Oklahoma Ave., Building 24. The minimum age to participate in Milwaukee Blacksmith classes is 12. Kids 14 and under must come with an adult.
Kent and his crew recently created a 6-foot Bloody Mary sculpture for Sobelman's Pub & Grill. They were also the subject of the History Channel's television series "Milwaukee Blacksmith" in 2016.
Classes had been on hiatus since March of 2020 due to COVID-19.
