True: Milwaukee Public Market official opening day appears to be set for July 15. There will be exclusive shopping previews, cooking demonstrations, live music and activities scheduled for July 13-17.
True: Bosley on Brady, 815 E. Brady St., is now open. Replacing the sushi of Konohana, the new restaurant features American cuisine with a Key West twist. It's open until 10 p.m. on weekdays, 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and is closed on Sundays.
False: Passporte, a bar/restaurant featuring international food and drinks, is not opening at 525 E. Menomonee, as had been promised for months. Rather, a new Italian restaurant will open in its Third Ward spot.
True: Luckystar Studio is moving, but not very far. Milwaukee's home of the avant-garde, is moving to the lobby level of the Marshall building, 207 E. Buffalo Ave., the very same building that has housed the group for the past three years. Grand Re-Opening party is scheduled for Friday, June 3, 6-10 p.m. As part of the event, Luckystar will host the Luxury Rehab Launch Party, featuring one-of-a-kind clothing, T-shirts, and accessories by a new Milwaukee fashion label, Luxury Rehab.
True: Rock Steady, a new barbershop at 1743 N. Martin Luther King Dr. opened its doors on Monday, May 16. Owner Aaron Blathers says his shop offers a new line of hair styles in a comfortable, pleasant atmosphere.
True: The new VP Gallery, devoted exclusively to the art of photography, is now open at 320 E. Buffalo St.
True: Clara's New Bronzeville Cafe and Coffee Shop is opening soon at the former Bean Head location, 1839 N. Martin Luther King Dr.
True: Earth & Water, 240 N. Milwaukee St., has closed and a business called Pieces: the Dialogue of Design, is opening in its place. It has the same owner, just a different focus. Pieces features retail décor, contemporary furniture and eclectic pieces for the home.
True: The Grand Gourmet, 151 N. Water St., is now closed, and Urban Kitchenware has taken its place.
False: The Grand Gourmet in Brookfield is not affiliated with the former Third Ward business. The Bluemound Road location in Brookfield is independently owned, but features many of the same products and services.
True: The Third Ward's newest yoga facility, Yama Yoga in the Ward, opened on May 9 at 231 E. Buffalo St.
True: Word on the street is that new custard and burger joint, similar in style and size to Bella's Fat Cat, is scouting locations in the Third Ward.
