I just came across this story on Badger Meter CEO Rich Meeusen, and had to react to it.
I've seen Meeusen speak a few times, I follow him on Twitter and have met him once. He's personable, a Milwaukee champion and an entertaining presenter. He's a property owner, too. His son runs Fire on Water in Downtown Milwaukee in a building owned by his dad.
Most importantly, Meeusen believes in Milwaukee. He's someone who takes an old mantra of mine – "A city is only as good as the stories it tells" – to a new, exciting level. This, I think, is very good thing for our fine city and something that more leaders need to embrace.

'Not only that, but if Milwaukee were located on Lake Superior, they'd rename it 'Lake Adequate.' People in Milwaukee just don't think the city can be great.''"
