Country tunes, new shampoos, a kid-friendly Q&A and more – don't miss out in this week's edition of OnMilwaukee.com Recommends.

Buck Owens "Live" at the White House (Omnivore) – The label co-run by Milwaukee ex-pat Cheryl Pawelski has been rooting around in the middle ground between me and my dad lately, with an Ernie Kovacs reissue and this great Buck Owens reissue. I grew up watching my dad watch "Hee-Haw" and so, to me, Owens was the "Hee-Haw" dude with the red, white and blue guitar. Then I learned that the fun Beatles' b-side "Act Naturally" was an Owens tune. I came to appreciate Owens as part of a generation of country greats – a witty part of that generation. The original 13-song record, recorded in 1968 in LBJ's White House and released in 1972, is laced with that humor, as well as with great tunes like "You Ain't Gonna Have Ol' Buck to Kick Around No More," "Act Naturally" and "Love's Gonna Live Here." But, wait, act now and you also get nine songs that Owens recorded in 1972 for the crew of Apollo 16 to take into space to thwart boredom. Among those tracks is a version of the brilliant "Milwaukee Here I Come." How can you resist? – Bobby Tanzilo 

Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy line of shampoo and conditioners – Heidi Klum is the face – or hair, if you will – of the new Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy line of shampoo and conditioners from Unilever. Pick 'n Save and Unilever dropped off some samples of the new hair care line that "promises stronger, more beautiful hair in just seven days" with a new approach that "feeds scalp" not just the ends. So, I tried it and, in general, loved the smell, texture and the fact that the focus of the shampoo is on the scalp. I haven't had time to diffuse my hair, but it still looked pretty good after using both the shampoo and conditioner. Something called Nutrium 10 is the blend of vitamins and nutrients in this product, and whatever the mix is it seems to work. Take the company's quiz here. – Carolynn Buser 

Chat Pack for Kids – Refusing to buy a car DVD player has not always worked in my favor. The "Are we there yet?"s really get on my nerves. But I'm stubborn and frugal, so I have not given in to travel screentime – not to say I never will. For now, I've invested in a few affordable distractions / time burners like this little box of 156 cards. Each card poses an interesting question, like "Which musical instrument best describes your personality?" or "If you could have any round object in the world, what would it be?" The questions really do spark lots of imaginative talk, and I have learned a thing or two about my kids. (Levi, for example, fancies himself most like a trumpet.) My only complaint? A couple of the questions assume all kids live with both parents. Nice thought, Chat Packers, but just not the reality of many modern families. Find 'em online for as low as $7. – Molly Snyder 

The patio at El Fuego – Being farther south than my usual bar stomping ground is no excuse for having never been to El Fuego, 909 W. Layton Ave. This bar/restaurant is practically a whole Mexican village packed into one building. Their indoor "village market"-style dining area is an experience in itself, but the best part of El Fuego has to be its patio. First, it's about the size of a dining room all on its own. This leaves plenty of space to check out the plants, flowers, fireplaces and other decorations that make this patio an oasis for diners and drinkers alike. The best part? Its insanely huge waterfall, positioned front and center in the patio area. It takes work not to see it, even if you're enjoying your food or drinks inside. I'd say dining waterfall-side is a can't-miss experience, but at that size, it really is hard to miss.  – Renee Lorenz
