Milwaukee Recreation Adaptive Athletics is hosting the first annual Ralph Davis Invitational Basketball Tournament, Tuesday, March 22, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The unified game will be from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m.
The games will be played at Washington High School, 2525 N. Sherman Blvd.
The tournament is named for the late Ralph Davis, who was a crucial part of the Washington High School community. Ralph coached the girls basketball team to two state appearances and also coached their Special Olympics team, creating a culture of inclusion within the school.
This tournament is not only meant to honor Ralph, but is the first unified basketball tournament of its kind, where special education athletes compete alongside their peers. The sole mission of the event is to promote inclusion and a high level of competition.
Four teams will be competing in the tournament; Vincent High School, Milwaukee School of Languages, Marshall High School and Washington High School.
There is no cost to attend this event. Please note, masks will be required for spectators, regardless of vaccination status.
